By implanting electrodes on a monkey, professor Miguel Nicolelis is able to read monkey thoughts and translate it into computer language.

The result is like a computer language completely made of thoughts of monkeys.

BrainPort is a technology whereby sensory information can be sent to one’s brain via a signal from the BrainPort (and its associated sensor) that terminates in an electroade array which sits atop the tongue.

This technology has mostly been researched in terms of its potential as a visual aid. For example, the BrainPort has demonstrated its ability to allow a blind person to see his surroundings in polygonal and pixel form.

I’m really surprise that this idea didn’t come from the Japanese.

In this German supermarket, you can shop with your cell phone, taste wine with a card-thing, and buy meat with chips on the packet. There’s even a friendly robot wondering about the store telling you about what the store has to offer.
