Ever heard of a kalimba? Neither have I.

The kalimba is an instrument in the percussion family. It is a modernized version of the African mbira. It is a sound box with metal keys attached to the top to give the different notes.

It is also known as the African thumb piano.

Today’s Brainiac video of the day is a double feature.

The theremin is one of the earliest electronic musical instruments, and the first musical instrument played without being touched. To play, the player moves his hands around the antennas, controlling frequency (pitch) and amplitude (volume).

This is perhaps the most beautiful song ever written by a cat.
