This is a paid review for the ticket buying site viagogo.
Do you need tickets to a concert, sporting event, or theater? If so, viagogo has got what you need to buy “live event tickets in a safe and guaranteed way.”
From their about page:
“viagogo is an online ticket exchange that allows people to buy and sell live event tickets in a safe and guaranteed way.”
Their mission is to “bring efficiency and transparency to what has traditionally been a murky market place, thus allowing consumers to buy and sell tickets in a safe and guaranteed way.”
If you’re a buyer, finding what you want is a simple 4 step process. First, you find what tickets to whatever event you’re looking for. Then, you contact the seller to initiate the transaction. Next, you receive your ticket, and finally, you have a blast at the event!
viagogo has tickets to whatever you’re looking for. For example, just going to the concert tickets page, I found that you can get Stevie Wonder Tickets UK. I said UK because this site is primarily based in the UK, but they also have a site for tickets in America.
Other big names include Tina Turner (Tina Turner Concert Tickets UK) and comedian Steve Coogan (Steve Coogan Tour Tickets).
And if a problem arises during the buying process, viagogo will refund your money or give you similar or better tickets than the tickets you have ordered.
Of course, if you’re like me and you’ve got your hands on a valuable ticket, you’d rather sell it than go to the event. For example, I bought student football tickets for the Georgia Bulldogs for $48, but I sold them for $300 because I don’t like football. Now, I sold mine online via Facebook because a lot of students use Facebook. If I had known about this site earlier, I would have used it along with Facebook in order to make even more money. Tickets for just one game (Georgia vs. Alabama), is going for around $350. Imagine what I could have made with six ticket!
Anyways, if you’re looking to sell, it’s gonna be more complicated because viagogo aims to minimizing fraud and creating a better experience for all. They do that by asking you to enter your credit card details to verify your identity. Unlike eBay, listing your ticket is completely free. You don’t pay anything if no one buys your ticket. You pay a 15% service fee and any other relevant taxes to cover the cost of providing the tools and platform to reach millions of potential buyers.
