On May 25, 1977 a man by the name of George Lucas made a movie that would become a pop culture icon for generations to come. It spawned 2 sequels, 3 prequels, and numerous spin-offs and pieces of memorabilia. That movie is, of course, Star Wars.
Now, over 30 years later, Star Wars is coming to the Wii in a new game called Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The game takes place between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and, according to Steve Sansweet, “has some incredible revelations.” The player assumes the role of “Darth Vader’s secret apprentice” and is sent across the galaxy to destroy the remaining Jedi. The story is both a continuation of the prequel trilogy as well as a direct bridge between the two trilogies.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is expected to be released Spring/Summer 2008. Click below for a preview trailer.
