Derren Brown demonstrates photographic memory by recalling specific information on random pages from books like the dictionary.
Any idea how he did it?

ive encountered a person with a photo memory, he was the only person who scored higher on the test than i did, he could literaly do the exact same thing. few sec of thinking and he could tell you any information you wanted that he has seen.

i learned in psychology that photographic memory doesn’t exist. iconic memory, which is close to photographic memory according to psychologists, exists but lasts for only a fraction of a second.
apparently, it does exist.

There are two tricks demonstrated in this video: he mentions a word from the Oxford English Dictionary and reads from an ‘just memorised’ book, ca. 250 pages. Both feats are tricks and don’t involve photographic memory. I am the librarian in the video. I know he used trickery. I know which in the first trick, I don’t know which for the second. But it’s all trickery, believe me.
If I see a lady beeing sawn in half on the stage, I am impressed, but it’s still a trick. I don’t need to know which.
