In Spanish, I learn that you need a personal ‘a’ whenever your direct object is a person or a pet because pets are people, too (if you’re not taking Spanish, ignore that).
Well then, why is it that pets, especially dogs, can poop on your lawn and hump your leg? Next time you catch one doing that, sue them!
