A homeless man in Detroit, Michigan was searching for some bottles in a trash bin to make some money. Instead, he found 31 US savings bonds in a bag of clothes worth a total of $21,000.
He then took the bonds to a shelter where the people tracked down the the man whose name was on the bonds.
Since you’re reading this on Sangent, you can safely guess that the owner of the bonds gave the homeless man less than 1% of the bonds’ worth.
