arm leg first bornIf you’re planning on a roadtrip this summer, here are nine things you can do to save some money on gas.

1) Buy gas before you travel.

2) Take the unnecessary stuff out of your car.

3) Look for exits with plenty of gas stations because higher competition = lower prices. Also, look for a gas station that is farthest away from the exit because the ones closer know that drivers’ demand for gas is high, so their prices will be higher.

4) Use official rest stops.

5) “Check nearby gas prices on your way out of the airport/car rental zone just after you pick up the car.”

6) “You can even pick the exact station at which you will purchase your gas on the way back in.”

7) Check the fuel economy on the car you wish to rent.

8) Read Gas Prices Got You Down?

9) Don’t try to park close to the store entrance.
