Authorities got a clue from Tennessee in the case of a missing New Hampshire eight-year-old and his mother who haven’t been seen since last Friday.
The boy’s father said he received a package, postmarked Tuesday from Knoxville, from his wife.
The package contained a satellite radio and a note saying she didn’t mean to take it along.
However it now appears that she was actually headed farther south. The van she was driving was found this morning in Clearwater, Florida.
Police Chief Gwen Deurell said Jennifer Malone’s Ford minivan was found abandoned at an interstate rest stop. Two parking tickets on the windshield suggest the car, whose New Hampshire license plates had been removed, had been there since Thursday.
