This is a great week if you’re the kind of person who celebrates just because.
May 1st was May Day, or International Workers Day or Loyalty Day.
Nothing for today but tomorrow is Israel’s Independenc Day.
Thursday is National Day of Prayer.
Of course, Friday is not only Cinco de Mayo, but it’s also international No Pants Day which is celebrated on the first Friday of May.
No Pants Day is an international ‘holiday’ observed in several Anglo-Saxon and other countries on the first Friday in May by not wearing pants (trousers). The idea of the holiday is to celebrate the freedom associated with not wearing pants.
The recommended No Pants Day attire is thick, appropriately modest boxer shorts. Other types of underwear, including bloomers, slips, briefs, and boxer briefs all work as well.
In addition to pants, the wearing of other conventional leg coverings, such as skirts and dresses, shorts, and kilts is also discouraged.
