Sangent

submitted by Sang on 02.26.2006

Somebody asked me about the Sangent logo today, and I knew it was inevitable, so I thought I should post this.

The logo is really basic. It consists of a font called Silkscreen zoomed in at 1600% in Photoshop, my initials, and a little bit of rotation. Here’s how it was done:

  1. My initials. First, I typed my initials with Silkscreen in Photoshop. I placed each letter on its own layer so that it’s easier to manipulate. Then, I moved the N over to the S so that the former overlaps the latter (it shouldn’t matter which one is on top). This is the result:

  2. 1 pixel delete. Then, I deleted one pixel from what I got in step 1. See if you can guess which pixel.

  3. Rotate. Next, I rotated the result from step 2 90 degrees clockwise.

That’s it! Yes, I know this is genius, so please don’t claim it as your own.

actually, sang does have a middle name, but using just the first and last initials are much easier and simpler.

Hi!
Sang: can you tell me where you got those cool mouseover links, and wherre did you get the cool search box (with the white and dark black colours)
Thanx

Dooga says:

You use CSS to create the mouse over links, and the search box. It’s just the color scheme. Try searching in Google for it.
