Please do not show this to your math teacher. The proof seems true, but it really isn’t. Look carefully at the fourth step.

If a=b, then a-b=0. You’re dividing by 0, dumbass!!!

i know this proof is flawed; that’s why i filed it under funny stuff, dumbass. read before commenting.

Hey Sang,
Dude, you changed it, I read it before you changed it. Previously it didn’t say “The proof seems true, but it really isn’t. Look carefully at the fourth step”. It said something like “introducing extraneous values”. You’re just trying to cover your ass after being showed up by a chick

you caught me.the point is that i know that the proof doesn’t work…and she was being an ass.

and in the 3rd to 4th lines… ab - b2 equals 0 not b(a-b) unless b does equal 0!!!

not it works……….using limts you can divide by something that will eventually be zero but isnt yet………the proof works but in an odd way im sure its all conditional…..but w/e your proof is not flawed at all

lets say that a and b both equal five ok.in the fourth step it would says that (a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b) technically it is right because it equals 0 then if you divide both sides by (a-b) then you get (a-b)=b so in all reality this equation really works

1/2 > 1/4
1/2 > (1/2)^2
ln(1/2) > 2ln (1/2)
1>2

ln .5 = a negative #
so you get -1 > -2

Does anyone remember the name of the guy who originally made the proof subsequently creating a new branch of mathematics which lasted like 40 years untill the proof was found false?
