AirTran Airways has teamed up with Wendy’s for a promotion. Basically, you buy a lot of drink and get a free ticket anywhere in the United States. Purchase a 20oz or 32oz beverage in a specially marked cup at Wendy’s and earn 1/4 AirTran flight credit.

The offer is open to consumers who have an AirTran Airways A+ Rewards account and are 18 years of age or older as of 11/1/05. If you do not have an AirTran Airways A+ Rewards account, you may create one at no cost by visiting www.aplusrewards.com and following the on-line instructions.

You are limited to 5 cups per transaction, however.

Here are some quick facts:

• Each medium/large cup has 1 coupon = Each cup = 1/4 credit
• 128 cups = 32 credits
• Round trip = 16 credits = 2 round-trips/person
• Hence, 32 coupons = free one way flight anywhere in the continental US
• 64 coupons = free round-trip flight anywhere in the continental US

Here’s a little math I borrowed from zerosign:
64 drinks * $1.29 per drink = $82.56

Round-trip ticket from Atlanta, GA to Los Angeles, CA is $291 for one-way and $582 for round-trip, but these are last minute deals.

$582-$82.56= $499.44 = your savings

$499.44/64 drinks = $7.80 of profit you make on every drink you purchase
